Lord Boothby has introduced a Private Members Bill (Sexual Offences (Scotland) Bill) into the House of Lords which would, in effect, extend the 1967 Sexual Offences Act to Scotland, but would set the age of consent at 18 instead of 21.
Abstract: !967 Act applies only to E&W. Scots act follows this prohibiting homosexual acts between men in the forces. Boothby feels if would be nonsense to set the age at 21 when the age of majority if 18.
